Born and raised on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales, Gary has lived in the South Island of New Zealand for well over 30 years. He has been writing and performing poetry for the last 20 years.

Now residing in Christchurch, but with one foot and a little bit of his soul still firmly planted in Southland, Gary has produced and published 3 poetry collections. Beneath The Sugarloaf, The Night the Rat Stepped Out and his latest book Strength in Adversity.

He tours and performs regularly in New Zealand and Australia and the shows are a mixture of bush ballads and poetry with the odd song thrown in. Come along and enjoy a show full of mirth, merriment, reflection and many hats…..

Gary is also an experienced dance caller, in demand in the South Island calling for several different bands up and down the island.
