Wellyfest 2024 will be offering some exciting opportunities for younger folk and aspiring young musicians.

The Wellyfest Youth Gathering is a youth programme catering for younger folk. A full weekend programme is being scheduled – watch this space for more information coming soon! 

This year we are also offering The Walker Trust – Youth Performance Award for the best live performance of a traditional style folk song or tune. The award is in two age categories, young adult (17 – 25 years) and youth (11 – 16 years).

Entries close on Sunday, September 15, for the 2024 Joan Prior Young Performers Award, offered by Acoustic Routes (The Wellington Folk Centre) to support young performers aged from 18 to 25 years. We look forward to seeing the entrants at the Young Performers concert at Wellyfest!
