Tucked among the native bush and old apple trees of Brookfield Outdoor Education Centre, the Wellington Folk Festival is where the folk music community of Aotearoa gathers every Labour Weekend. Three days of wonderful folk, Americana and world music!

From traditional to contemporary, from ballads and shanties to dance tunes and waiata. Between the concerts there are workshops to try, ceilidhs to dance at, and jam sessions that carry on long after the last set has finished.

Camp under the trees, bring the kids, stay the whole weekend.

Affectionately known as Wellyfest (a name that doubles as fair warning about the gumboots you’ll want for Wellington’s spring weather!), we turn 61 years young in 2026. We’d love you to join us.
