Dance programme

Yes, we have a fantastic dance programme at the 2016 festival.

The Dancing Ceilidh on Saturday night of course – it’s part of our tradition and this year, The Jimmies will be celebrating their 30th birthday with us.
Workshops: Times and venues to be confirmed.
Get ready for the ceilidh – learn to do the Eightsome Reel with the experts – our fantastic Ceilidh band, The Jimmies.
The Britannic Bedlam Morris Gentlemen will give us a demonstration of Morris dancing – and you too can join in and learn how to dance with bells on!

Always wondered how you’d shape up as a Belly dancer?  Jude ‘Verdant’ Hutton returns with her popular belly dance workshop. With a little help from her friends Ziva and the band Tangerine, you’ll be shimmying in no time! Come along and add some classic belly dance moves to your WellyFest dance repertoire.

Irish Set dancing from Noel Armstrong will get the blood travelling through your veins.
Contra dancing – is fun and quick to learn – it’s a traditional folk dance made up of styles from Scotland, Ireland, France, and has wonderful Appalachian influences. Chilli Jam are the experts and they’ll soon have your feet moving in the right direction.
Dances of Universal Peace – an almost meditative dance that everyone, including even the smallest festival goers, can learn.  Led by Helen
