Crossing the borders:  Denny, James, Davy, Nigel and Chris

A bountiful harvest of multi talented musicians and singers from Auckland,Nelson and Christchurch combine their mutual love of acoustic strings and voice….songs of love,loss,heritage, heroes and rogues from the old world to the new…

This amalgamation of musical friends have over the past 30 years travelled many miles through our heartlands sharing their multiple talents from festivals to tiny acoustic venues,sessions and workshops and on radio and tv.  Between them they have over 100 recordings of their music. Denny was part of Gentle Annie, Acoustic Confusion(with Chris) and Rua (with James and Davy). Davy was part of bands  Rua and Claddagh and most recently recorded three cds and toured with Harpist Helen Webby. James has appeared on over 40 albums and has toured extensively with bands Hampster and Rua and as a duo with celtic pioneer Jimmy Young. Chris was part of legendary band Acoustic Confusion with Denny and has recorded five solo cds including his recent Unsung Heroes and Rogues cds featured on national radio. Nigel has performed with Robert Fripp and founded NZ based guitar ensemble concept bands Gitbox and Gitbox rebellion and has toured and recorded with the Nairobi Trio,the Fondue Set,the Jews Brothers, Whirimako Black and Richard Adams just to name a few.
