Rosy Tin Teacaddy are an ‘alt-folk’ duo from Wellington formed in 2007, who have a reputation for narrative songwriting highlighted by tightly crafted lyrics and blended male/female harmonies.

Most recently Rosy Tin Teacaddy have been experimenting with their live sound to include the layers of electronica present in their albums. They have a new EP entitled In Kindness or Injury, due for release in 2015.

Their debut EP, Blind Leading The Blind opened to audiences with a sold-out theatrical show. Their following full-length album, The Homeward Stretch was recorded with multi-award winner Lee Prebble, and was warmly received by fans and critics.

In 2010 the pair were awarded a Wild Creations artists-in-residency grant from Creative NZ and the Department of Conservation. They exiled themselves for six weeks on the shores of Lake Tarawera where they researched, wrote and recorded their translations of local history and isolation in a site-responsive manner. The resulting album, All Mountains Are Men was released in June 2011.

The duo have appeared at numerous arts festivals and supported acts including Iron & Wine, Jose Gonzalez and Rhian Sheehan. In 2013 they received Best Music Award at NZ Fringe Festival.
